S4 | Episode 295: Engaging virtual meetings and events with Sam Kolbert-Hyle, Brandlive
About the Episode
Over the last couple of years, we’ve all been in a virtual meeting and probably felt a bit lost or disengaged from the conversation. But why do virtual meetings, webinars, and conferences have to be so… boring? Today we’re going to talk about virtual meeting fatigue and how to create more engaging experience for employees and other audiences while staying virtual. To help me discuss this topic, I’d like to welcome Sam Kolbert-Hyle, CEO of Brandlive.
About Sam Kolbert-Hyle
Sam Kolbert-Hyle is the President & CEO of Brandlive. Brandlive helps the world’s best brands create experiences that move people - from town hall-style internal meetings with soul to major marketing events that drive revenue. Under Sam’s leadership, Brandlive has grown from a handful of employees to over 150 and hosted marquee events for companies like Nike, Nintendo, Ark Invest, The Wall Street Journal, Square, Google, GoPro, and Adidas, and was ranked #1 in Live Events on Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies list in 2021 and in the emerging video category in 2022. During the 2020 election, Brandlive became known for powering the Biden campaign’s virtual meetings and events.
Over the past two years, as the world shifted, Sam and the Brandlive team studied communication, engagement, and what drives employee satisfaction in this new world we call hybrid work. Through this work, the Brandlive team developed a strong point of view on how to engage a company’s most important audiences - employees, sales prospects, customers, and investors. We know that executives and managers are now leading from behind their screens, which means that companies have to work harder to make connections in a remote environment. By combining production tricks-of-the-trade from TV with entertainment ideas from Netflix and TikTok, it is possible to create corporate communications that are unique, entertaining, highly engaging, and that dazzle and inspire audiences.
