S3 | Episode 139: Authentic Relationships and Transformation with Michael Dumlao
Welcome to a special episode of the show brought to you in partnership with Arlington Economic Development, where we discuss issues related to the workforce, the role of place in the future of work, and the role of the creative sector in a larger business context. We call this Return on Creativity.
About the Episode
Today we’re going to talk about the importance of authentic relationships with ourselves and others, and discovering and transforming ourselves as we learn and grow both personally and professionally. To help me discuss this topic, I’d like to welcome Michael Dumlao, Author, “The Wisdom of Guncles: Advice on Living Life from a Queer Perspective”, and Senior Brand and Diversity Advisor at Booz Allen Hamilton.

I directed our LGBTQ Forum “GLOBE” for more than a decade and am proud that our efforts to advance equality in the workplace earned us the Washington Business Journal Business of Pride Award and a feature in the US Chamber of Commerce's 2019 Inclusion Report. Due to my work in brand and diversity, I have also been a faculty member of OPM’s Institute for Federal Leadership at Georgetown University since 2015.
Prior to becoming a management consultant, I honed my communications and creative strategy expertise at the United Nations Foundation and Georgetown’s Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship.
