About Shoel Perelman
Shoel Perelman is a global Software Executive who leads with hands-on technical insight, an intuitive sense of what works in the real world, and an understanding of the organizational dynamics to get things done in both large organizations and small teams.
His 20+ years of development leadership span building new products through rapid client-centric iterations in a startup environment to scaling businesses across world wide teams.
As the VP Development for IBM Watson Commerce, he was the executive responsible for development across IBM's SaaS and On Premise products in the domains of eCommerce, Fulfillment, Order Optimization, Insights-to-Action, Price Optimization and Digital Experience (Content). Two key missions he led were 1) baking Data Science into the products customers love and use every day and 2) uniting Digital Content with Commerce.
Prior to 2017, Shoel led development for IBM's Marketing and Customer Analytics products, uniting the portfolio by launching the Universal Behavior Exchange (UBX), which enables business users to exchange behaviors and segments between products.
Prior to 2013, Shoel led the team that built IBM's Smarter Cities software solutions. These products optimized traffic, water usage, coordinated emergency operations within a city, and enabled city planners to better allocate scarce funds for infrastructure projects.
Earlier in his career, Shoel was a pioneer in Business Service Management software as part of the IBM Tivoli brand. He joined IBM in 2006 when IBM acquired Micromuse, a leader in Network management software. He holds a degree in Computer Science as well as an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business, majoring in Finance and Business Law.
